Developing an international outlook. Experiencing business practices from across the world. Understanding different cultural contexts and ways of doing business. All of these are hugely important aspects of developing the agile, entrepreneurial and inclusive leaders our world needs.
This is why we collaborate with international organisations and form influential partnerships with business schools across the globe. It’s one of the ways we work to make business a force for opportunity and improvement across societies.
Our beating heart is in Brussels. But our spirit can be felt in business hubs, schools, organisations and influential groups across the world.
We have exchange programmes in place with leading business schools. This means our Masters students have opportunities to visit, or go on formal exchanges with known institutions.
We also have exciting partnerships allowing our Masters students to gain a double Masters degree, spending one year in Belgium and another year abroad. For instance, at the Darla Moore School of Business, which is part of the University of South Carolina in the US, or at EDHEC Business School in Nice, France.
And we’re creating exchange opportunities for MBA students with FOME partner schools. This will allow participants from schools in the network to take part in electives at other schools.
Each year in the degree programmes, our students visit international destinations where we partner with reputable local business schools. The MBA students travel to Silicon Valley, Singapore and South Africa, where we partner with Berkeley, Singapore Management University and Stellenbosch Business School to design an immersive and impactful experience.
The Masters students travel to Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, London and the US to visit companies working in their academic field. And in the US, our Masters students also experience lectures at schools such as Berkeley, Boston University, Drexel University, Elliot School of International Affairs, George Washington University School of Business, NYU and Ohio University.
We partner with international institutions to grant degrees, co-design learning journeys and share best practice.
Peking University (China): Since 2008, Vlerick has been the degree-granting institution for the Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) of Peking University. The programme blends Western management theory with the Chinese context – and is taught in English.
IMT Ghaziabad (India): We have collaborated with IMT Ghaziabad since 2019. We co-design the curriculum for its Post Graduate Degree in Management, which specialises in banking and financial services. We deliver one third of teaching for courses.
Vlerick is a founding partner of the European Scale-up Institute (ESI). We helped to set up the organisation to better understand what helps promising start-ups to flourish and scale.
We’re a member of the Future of Management Education (FOME), a global alliance of business schools that shares ideas and best practice in online education. In 2022, we won the FOME Innovation Award.
In 2018, we were accepted into the International Schools of Business Management (ISBM) consortium. The organisation exists to support faculty across the world to learn from the best practice of leading business schools.
We’re a signatory member of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) - a United Nations-supported initiative that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in business schools around the world, equipping business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.
We became an institutional partner of the Responsible Research in Business & Management (RRBM) network in 2019. We’re signatories to RRBM’s vision that academic research should play a role in developing knowledge that benefits businesses and wider society, with the goal of creating a better world.
