Fertiga founder Elien brings a combination of bioengineering expertise and business experience to her role at Vlerick
Elien Van Hecke started her professional life at Innogenetics (now Fujirebio), where she held various international commercial roles – and then went on to join Roche Diagnostics. In 2017, she took the leap into the world of entrepreneurship, and launched a molecular diagnostics company with Prof Dr Johan Smitz and Prof Dr André Rosenthal. Fertiga is a spin-off from VUB Belgium, and its objective is to make female fertility treatment more effective. Elien’s ambition is to give all women the highest chance possible of becoming a mother. She’s Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for operations and commercialisation of products.
She is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Vlerick Entrepreneurship Academy.
