Professor of Digital Strategy and Marketing
Where would you like to be in 2030, supposing there were no restrictions? Kobe Verdonck, CEO of the leading European HR and payroll service provider SD Worx, challenged the other members of his executive committee to come up with moonshots in 2020. The ultimate ambition is to transform SD Worx into a universal, digital HR platform.
By now, SD Worx is well on its way to realising that ambition. The mysdworx platform passed the milestone of 1 million users by the end of 2022, and that number is still growing. As well as using the company to generate their payslips, request holiday time, report absences or deal with expenses, employees and employers can call on it for all kinds of other services.
Two SD Worx managers – Michael Custers, the Chief Marketing Officer, and Kim Van Loo, the Platform Business Leader – look back on a successful research partnership with Vlerick professor Steve Muylle.
Why was the transformation to a digital platform a logical choice? Why did SD Worx decide to engage in a research partnership? What insights did that collaboration deliver? What challenges did SD Worx have to overcome? What has the organisation learned? And what advice do Michael and Kim have for other organisations? The answers can be found in this case study.
